How Could Someone So Persecute Jesus
"Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" (Acts 26:14)
Are we unknowingly persecuting Jesus Christ in our lives? Do we put exalt SELF or Christ to the throne of our lives? Do we obey God's commandments? If you love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15)
Do we love God?
We will never be free from this trap of "SELF" until we are brought into the experience of the baptism of "the Holy Spirit and fire". (Matthew 3:11)
TIMES WE PERSECUTE AND HURT JESUS:
1)Stubbornness and self-will
2)Obstinate and self-willed and set on our own ambitions
3)Stand on our own rights and insist that this is what we intend to do
4)Rely on self-respect
We must always be careful not to fall into the trap of using the spirit of Satan to show the Spirit of Jesus. That is because the spirit of Satan persecutes the Spirit of Jesus. The Spirit of Jesus is only conscious of only one thing - a perfect oneness with the Father
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:29)
All we do should be based on a perfect oneness with Him, not on a self-willed determination to be godly. This will mean that others may use me, go around me, or completely ignore me, but if i will submit to it for His sake, I will prevent Jesus Christ from being persecuted.
Brothers and Sisters, let us learn from this and start obeying God's commandments. Faith and obedience are like two faces on a coin, they cannot be separated. Faith must be accompanied with obedience or else it won't be faith... at the same time, obedience to God will surely come from faith. Let us exercise this faith even in the smallest things of our daily lives. Do not break any rules of the world, do not go for cheap thrills which are quite predominant in our youths. Let's pray for each other...
Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22)
